Mock interview practice
Mock interview support for 16-18 year olds practising common questions, company research and confident answers.
Mock interview practice helps young people get used to answering questions before the pressure of a real interview. Jumpstart Careers includes support for written and video-style practice, plus company insight prompts.
This feature is for young people who are preparing for jobs, apprenticeships, college interviews, work experience or any first formal conversation about an opportunity.
A practical example is practising the question: Tell me about a time you worked in a team. A young person can use school, clubs, volunteering, sport, home responsibilities or a project as the example, then practise making the answer clearer.
Mock interviews reduce fear because the situation becomes familiar. The first answer may feel awkward, but the fifth answer is usually easier. That is the Volume Experience Method in action.
Every mock interview, real interview and follow-up reflection builds evidence. Even if the answer is not perfect, the young person learns what to improve next time.
